Christmas Countdown Day 11

Hello! It's already Christmas Eve. Already? I don't really think it has sunk in yet with me. December has flown by, yet something gives me the idea today won't go fast enough. Typical.

Have you got all your Christmas shopping done yet? I would hope so! I obviously have mine done.... Well... There are a few things....

I'm super excited! I'm really looking forward to tomorrow's blog post. I'm planning to do a "my day in pictures". I know it'll be Christmas, and my countdown will be technically over but I think that this is what the last 11 posts have been leading up to and it's important that this day is special. I'm currently I'm my grannies house. My brother, James is reading the Argos catalogue (bit late for that), my dad is snoozing in my grannies armchair (nothing new there), and my other brother, Hugh, is playing angry birds.

It's getting late and we're about to leave. See you tomorrow!

Christmas Countdown Day 10

I meant to post this earlier but thanks to no internet I couldn't.

Hey guys! Wassup? It's day 10 of my Christmas Countdown and what's more, Friday was the last day of school... I'm free at last! Really, I was starting to get a bit feed up of school. Sadly, for some reason, my internet isn't working so this will probably be posted a bit late. It is only 3 (no it's not) days until Christmas Eve! I know that I certainly, have been preparing for Christmas. This is a list of some of the things I have been doing to prepare for Christmas/winter.

1. Being EXTRA good in the hope that Santa will be generous.
2. Started fattening my self up for Christmas dinner.
3. Doing a spot of Christmas shopping for friends and family.
4. Practicing the song I will be singing at mass on Christmas Day. Alone.
5. Acquiring Christmassy jumpers. 100% necessary, no exceptions.
6. Painting & redecorating my room. It was in bad need of it.
7. Belting Christmas carols at the top of my voice, around the house. Deafening everyone in the process..
8. Making Christmas Countdown blog posts.
9. Dressing up as a shepherd and embarrassing myself. (I'm pretty positive shepherds didn't wear dressing gowns and tea towels on their heads).
10. Trying to find my mums hiding places for the Nutella. So far I've found it in the towel drawer, the garage, the cabinet for plates and stuff and under the bed.
11. Watching 2+ episodes of Dance Moms. Again completely necessary.
12. Making a crib for school.
13. Watching diy Christmas decoration tutorials for my room.
14. Making diy Christmas decorations.
15. Finally, I have been practising some Christmas carols on my viola for our concert tomorrow.

I'm currently sitting in the car waiting for my Mum to come out of the shops. Boring. I really regret not going in with her but ah well. At least she's getting rashers. I cannot believe it's so close to Christmas!

Christmas Countdown Day 8

Hey there! You may have noticed I forgot to post for not 1 day, not 2 days, but 3 whole days. I'm sooooooooooo sorry! Ugh I am a failure.
With that apology over and done with I better get on with the post. Wow it's only 10 days until Christmas Eve. Yippee! For todays blog post I thought I might tell you what I would ask for if I had three wishes.

But firstly, I usually ignore ads on television, like most people, but the other day I saw an ad that really touched me. I congratulate who ever made this ad. I only saw it once but it was enough to melt my heart. It was about a hare and a bear. They were obviously best friends, but when winter came the bear of course had to hibernate. The hare felt very lonely when the bear curls up in a cave and goes to sleep. On Christmas Eve the hare comes in and gives his sleeping friend a present. I won't tell you what that present is in case you haven't already seen it. If you haven't and you would like to, you can look for the "hare and the bear" on YouTube.

Back to todays post. This is what I would wish for if I had three wishes.

1. I would wish for the opportunity to be the best I could be and to achieve the most I could achieve. I don't believe that anyone should get something with out working for it.
2. I would wish that I could be the most optimistic person I could be. I would wish that I could be happy and content with life no matter how rough it may be.
3. My last wish would be a bit more materialistic than the first two. I would wish that when I retired I could move down to the country, where I could spend the rest of my life with my many dogs and hopefully my family.

This is what I would do if I had three wishes. But what would you do? I hope you enjoyed this post and I will try my best to post tomorrow.
Until next time!

Christmas Countdown Day 8: If I were queen of the world

Hey there! Wow its already Day8 of the Christmas Countdown. Its only 14 days til Christmas. I am personally dying with happiness and expectation. How are you guys? Todays post is a wee bit different. Today I want to tell you about what I would change if I was queen of the world. I know its a strange topic but I think it would be a good idea if I shared some of my thoughts with you. So, lets get started. If I was queen of the world I would make sure that the death penalty was abolished in all countries. I believe that the right answer to this problem would be to try and understand the criminals views and try to help he/she. I would also make sure that as many people in the 3rd world tackling poverty and disease were helped and I would see to it that people in richer countries are 100% aware of what is happening to others around the world. I would try to get to children in less well-off, rougher parts of the world, help and I would try to help avoid the life of crime that may seem, for them and others the only path for them to choose. I would try my very hardest to insure that all forms of abuse are exterminated. These are just some of the things I would change about the world if i was queen of the world. I have been brainstorming ideas for blog posts that I can use until Christmas and after so i better get back to that. I am super sorry about my last two posts! Until next time!!! BYE

Christmas Countdown Day 7: Family Traditions

Hey y'all! If I'm not mistaken it's only 15 days until Christmas Eve!
Again, I'm sorry for not posting yesterday. I suppose it's just the innumerable things I have to.
I only have a short post for you today as I am tired and want to go to bed.
So for todays post I want to tell you about some Christmas traditions in my family.

No 1. Every year for the last 100 years my aunt has brought us to see Santa at Avoca.
No 2. For the last 4ish years we have used out Christmas tree at our orchestras Christmas concert.
No 3. Most Christmas' we go to my grannies for dinner. Yum
No 4. Every Christmas my brothers and I wake up super-duper early to open our presents.
No 5. It is traditional for my brothers to not give any presents and not even thank anyone for the ones they do get.

And that's it. I'm sorry I couldn't do more, I'm just so tired.
G'night munchicans!

Christmas Countdown Day 6

I'm so sorry! I forgot to post this until now. I made it late last night and then forgot to post it.

Hey blissiers! It's day 6 of the C.C and I'm superdy duperdy excited for Christmas!
I only remembered I hadn't made a post for today a minute ago, so apologies if this is a bit rushed. I have some crazy news! My brother and I were just at choir practice (yes, we are in a choir) and I was chosen for the solo! It's a church choir so I'm going to have to sing for everyone at mass. Great.
Don't get me wrong, I'm very excited about it, I've just never done anything like this before. But after all, life is all about trying new things.
I've been in this choir for the last 4 years and I love it. My friend Laura goes as well.  She probably would have got the solo but she didn't come to that practise. Tut tut.
Until next time

Christmas Countdown Day 5

Heya! How are you. I'm great! I'm currently lying in my aunts big double bed. It's so cosy! The only bad thing is I can hear my uncle snoring away in the next room.
Wow it's only 17 days until Christmas! It's pretty close!

What are you getting your family and friends for Christmas?

Ooh, today I'm going to tell you a short story from around this time of year about 6 years ago. This story seems to have imprinted itself in my brain. It's surprising I remember this because I don't generally remember things from when I was that small.

So it was a cold wintery day, one of those days when nothing ever gets done. My mum, refusing to let us become idle, decided to bring us to the park. At first we weren't having any of it. But when my mum told us we could get something in the shops afterwards we agreed to go. Typical.
We had lots of fun at the park playing hide-and-seek in the trees, running around playing catch. We were having so much fun. All until we went to the fountain. I don't know how but somehow I found myself head first on the water and not able to get out. I started panicking. You can imagine how scary that was for a 5 year-old girl!
Thankfully my Mum scooped me up from behind and put me back down on the ground. She then brought me back to the car and got some clothes that she was about to donate to charity shops. After that we went home, first stopping at the shops.

That is not an experience I would like to repeat. So there you have it! I think we are going to Avoca today, so I might inform you on that later, and if not I will in C.C.D.6.

Oh and also I got some really nice stuff in Gap yesterday. They have everything 1/2 price until this evening. I mean everything!
Maybe I'll show some of the things I got soon!

I'm so glad we came up with the idea for C.C. This might sound strange but it's motivating me to write more blog posts. I'm just realising how much I love it!

So that's all for now. I'm going downstairs for a cuppa now.

See ya guys!

Christmas Countdown Day 4:

Hey guys! It's getting even nearer to the big day. In fact it's only 19 days!

So I decided not to have a specific frame for this blog post and instead, to just update on what is just going on in my life.
I'm currently in heaven here, sitting in my big woolly jumper in front of the fire. Ahhhhh bliss.....
Today we went to Dundrum Shopping Centre (which I, initially thought was a bad idea, what with it being so close Christmas). It actually wasn't as packed as I was expecting! The reason we went, was to get me a decent coat. Maeve and I have christened the coat I usually wear F.A.M.F, bit lately it's been to cold to wear it. That's why my aunt brought me to look at them. While looking I saw some lovely coats, most of which didn't fit me. After looking for a while we realised that there would be more selection in the adults section. It took forever but I finally found the perfect jacket in Gap. And to round it all of, Gap were having a sale so everything was half price so I also got a jumper.  Then we came home to my aunt's and watched a Christmas movie.

It's getting late so I better dash! Love y'all

Christmas Countdown Day 3: recipe

Hello my Arizonians! Its me andddd its Christmas Countdown time. So its only 19 days til Christmas Eve and I am officially in the Christmas spirit. Im just exploding with happiness! Tomorrow I am going, with my brothers, to my aunties house. So thats another thing to be super excited about. I will of course still post while im there. Another thing that is happening at the weekend is my dad has promised to paint my room. Unfortunately for me, i wont be able to help him. So for todays post, i thought I would give you a recipe. So lets get started! Morroccan style lamb chops You will need: 2 racks of lamb (8 chops per rack)fat removed 1whole nutmeg 1 teaspoon of cumin 1 teaspoon of paprika (and extra for dusting) 1 teaspoon of dried thyme 1 lemon Put the racks of lamb on a sheet of greaseproof paper on a board and cut each rack in half so you have 4 smaller racks. Quickly score the top of each rack in a crisscross pattern. Then finely grate half the nutmeg, and sprinkle with the cumin paprika and thyme. Massage the flavours into the meat, thenplace in the hot frying panwith a splash of oil. Git rid of the greaseproof paper. i would advise to leave the chops to cook for about 5 mins. Whan ever you think it looks like its cooked Enjoy and until tomorrow my little gingerbread people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Friendship

Hello there! How are you. I'm grand! Just chilling..... On my doorstep..... On my own.... I'm locked out. While I am I thought I would write a short blog post seeing as I'm going to be here for a while. This blog post is going to be about friendship. It's going to be about how it has helped me, how it is important to me and how important my friends are to me.
So here it is! This post is dedicated to Maeve and Laura the best friends ever.

Over the years I have learnt that life without friendship is like a sky without the sun. Whether that is having a kindred spirit to pour your heart  into, or having a shoulder to cry on.  Even when you fight, the real friends will always stick by you. I have had some of the best times of my life with my best friends and I can't dare to think of what it will be like without them next year. But as they say although we may be miles apart we'll always be joined at heart.

I personally am not the kind of person who has a giant group of friends. I prefer to have a couple of close friends whom I know I can trust. That's just how I like it. That doesn't mean I don't have other friends. I'm good friends with other the girls in my class and the girls on my road where I live. I understand that other girls like to have loads of "best friends" and I think that's great!

In some cases, people call themselves "unsociable" but in my eyes there's no such thing as unsociable. I prefer the word "lazy". This might sound harsh and insensitive but nobody should categorise themselves so easily. There is nothing wrong with your social skills, you're just too lazy to take your nose out of your phone. Now, I know I'm not perfect but I do try to keep time out for human interaction.

There are always people who will try to get the better of you. They will endeavour to get inside your head. They will find every one of your minute imperfections and make them seem 1000 times worse. Without friends it is almost impossible to get past these people. If you have good friends it will help you so much in the long run. It's the same when you're building a house; you need a good foundation to ensure the house stays strong.

Good friends will always support you in what you do, they will always believe in you and good friends will never stop you unless you're going down.

That was my blog post for today I hope you liked it and remember to interact with other human beings!

Christmas Countdown Day 2: Christmas memories!

Hello! It's me again!
Wow only 20 days 'til Christmas!
For this blog post I'm going to tell you about my Christmas memories.
A memory from Christmas that I remember very vividly was when I was about 7.
I woke up in the middle of the night and I really needed to go to the loo. I think I had completely forgotten that it was Christmas! On the way to the bathroom I must have been half asleep because I tripped over something ( just remember that). It was only when I was coming out of the bathroom I remembered the special date. I ran into my brother's room to waken him. We both ran down together not bothering to wake our parents. As we burst into the sitting room we saw that there were the big parcels under the tree! To my great disappointment they were all James'!
I still remember that surge of sadness that swept over me just then. I proceeded to make my way back upstairs to my room.
As my eyes adjusted to the dark in my bedroom I was just able to make out the shape of some parcels. I fumbled excitedly for the light. Sure enough, my presents from Santa were lying out in front of me. Silly Clare....
I was a very strange child especially when I was tired/angry/moody. I remember ages and ages ago I was really mad at someone so I crawled under the Christmas tree and refused to come out. The depressing thing was that nobody cared. In fact my parents were glad to get me out of the way for a while!

Well guys it's been nice telling you some of my Christmas memories.
Until tomorrow my colourful candy canes!

Christmas Countdown Day 1: diy bunting

Well hello there! I must say I'm very excited about this Christmas countdown.
It's only 21 days until Christmas Eve!
Are you feeling that Christmas vibe yet.
I certainly am!
I had a cold today so I had to stay home from school :( and I thought what better a way to spend the day (ahhhh it rhymes) than to cuddle up in my pjs with a cuppa and make some festive decorations for my room!
I had some great ideas but my favourite, by far was my Christmas bunting. I think it is a really cute style that you could have in your room all year round. I actually got the idea from my mum. So thanks mum!
I suppose I should show you how I made it.
Until tomorrow my sweet peas!

I hope you enjoyed that.

Our Christmas Idea

Hi guys! I bet you probably thought that you never hear from me again but I'm back.
My friend I, Maeve, have the idea to do a christmas countdown. So basically, every day leading up to Christmas I will make a short blog post, with something Christmassy about it.
I hope you guys enjoy reading them as much as I enjoy making them!

Peace out......
